The plastic wrap has come off the units, the new flooring is beautifully squeaky clean and you’ve finally changed that old swinging light fixture to shed some more light into the room. We’re talking about your fantastic new kitchen! Renovating an old kitchen can take some time and a bit of work, but it is all worth it in the end, especially after you see it and then use it for the first time. So where to next?
Why not try out a few beautiful features for your new kitchen? With more and more appliance and accessories provided for kitchens today, it seems like there is a gadget designed to help make cooking and baking easier with every passing year. However some appliances are more widely popular than others because of simply how useful they are in most situations.
We’ll take a look at four luxury features you absolutely must include in your new kitchen.
Fridge-Freezer Ice Water
While technically more of an appliance than a feature, you’ll want to consider this fairly early in the design stages of your new kitchens. Fridge-freezers are great multi-purpose appliances all rolled into one single package and the best kinds come with an ice and ice water dispenser. It is a simple feature yet one that is infinitely useful.
Whether you prefer to cool your water from the tap when drinking a glass, or you pour from a jug kept in the fridge, cold water is incredibly refreshing. Skip the cooling process by installing a fridge-freezer with an ice dispenser, so that you can have deliciously ice cold water, whenever you fancy!
Gorgeously pulled pork, melt-in-the-mouth vegetables, any curry you like or any number of exotic dishes are all options when you have a slow cooker in your kitchen appliance army. Slow cookers are a great way of getting the most out of your meat and while they may take a while, the wait is definitely worth it.
Wireless Charging Worktop
With the ever rising popularity of mobile devices in our society, it will come as no surprise that there are now wireless charging stations available in certain makes of kitchen worktop. All you need to make sure is that your mobile device is wirelessly charging ‘ready’ or you can buy accessories to make it available for wireless charging, and then you just have to pop it on the ‘charging spot’. This is great for when your phone is playing music and it is running out of battery, or you have a recipe online that you need to check every now and then.
Slide and Hide Oven
These ovens are perfect for kitchens that are a little tight on space. Slide and Hide ovens are an ingenious creation that mean the oven door can actually be folded down and slide underneath the oven to save space. This is great for when you want to give your cooking a little bit of air, or as a quick way to check up on the meal without having to worry about keeping hold of a heavy oven door. Fantastic!
Of course, it is important to consider whether or not you will make good use of these luxury features. If you’re more a cooker of basic meals, or if you’ve never found a need for a slow cooker before, why fix what isn’t broke? You could always purchase a slow cooker to try it out and then use that old anti-hoarding method; if you don’t use it more than a few times in the next year, give it away or sell it! There is no use in keeping a whole range of new and shiny accessories and appliances if you only get them out and dust them off every few months (seasonal appliances exempted, because everybody has Christmas themed crockery and cutlery).
Buy appliances that are designed to make your life easier, but don’t go nuts. Only try them out if you think you will have a real use for them. Otherwise you will just be filling up your kitchen cupboards with unnecessary clutter. Most of the features we have listed here are space-saving and ideal for a wide range of different kitchen styles, so you shouldn’t have any issue. What are you waiting for? Give them a go!
